Harrison Medical Center Selects Romance Hill for New Primary & Urgent Care Clinic
The Commissioners of Mason County Public Hospital District #2 are pleased to announce that the agreement between Harrison Medical Center and PHD #2 has been signed and that Romance Hill Road is the site of the new North Mason Primary & Urgent Care Clinic.
Herb Gerhardt, chair of the PHD#2 board of commissioners, said "We are continuing to work diligently to turn this dream into reality and we ask for your patience and support. Thanks to all the members of our community who united and worked so hard to make all this happen. A special thanks to the members of the Citizen's Committee for the establishment of Public Hospital District 2 and to the many businesses and individuals who contributed funding to turn our dream into reality. Without their support we could not have succeeded in this venture." Following Harrison's selection of the site at Romance Hill Road and Hwy 3 for its Urgent Care and Primary Care clinic, the work to bring the project to fruition continues. Harrison will be developing a working and contractual relationship with Rick Krueger and his team over the next few weeks, but will ultimately enter into a longer-term lease agreement for the space as specified by the agreement with Mason County Public Hospital District #2.
The project begins immediately: an architectural firm has been hired and preliminary construction hearing requests have been filed. Harrison will be striving for a very early 2009 opening date, as the current clinic in the community will be closing on December 31, 2008.
Harrison intends to operate a 12-hour per day Urgent Care center and locate primary care physician practices to the facility. In support of those care givers will be ancillary radiology and laboratory services.
During the internal approval process for Harrison, the Board of Directors and Scott Bosch, Harrison President & CEO, recognized the passion, sense of purpose, and commitment to serve their community that was demonstrated by the PHD#2 Commissioners throughout the negotiations and planning for the clinic. "The significant progress made with ease and in such a short period of time is due to the credibility and sincerity of the Comissioners and community members who played a role in getting us to this point," said Tom Kruse, Vice President of Strategy & Business Development for Harrison Medical Center.
Kruse also said, "Harrison looks forward to a continued relationship with the residents of North Mason County and is excited to bring services directly to the community to better meet the needs of all its residents."
