Mason County Parks and Trails Department and the Capitol Land Trust would like to inform the public that the Mason County Parks and Trails Department and the Capitol Land Trust will be conducting a public workshop on Thursday, April 3rd, starting at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the workshop is to invite the public to attend and provide additional comments from the first public workshop that was held during July of 2007. Results of this meeting will be used to develop a final Master Plan proposal for the park. The Capitol Land Trust and the County partnered to purchase the 80-acre park in 2005. This meeting is an opportunity for the public to provide suggestions for the future design and use of the park. Oakland Bay Historical Park is an 80-acre and is located on Oakland Bay. The park is accessed from Agate Road. The park is primarily undeveloped with the exception of a former homestead with a house built in the early 1900's. The park provides wonderful views of Oakland Bay and Melaney Creek meanders through the property. The meeting will be held at the Commissioners Chambers at Mason County Building #1, 411 North 5th Street, Shelton. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. If anyone has any questions about the Oakland Bay Park Public Workshop, please contact John Keates at Mason County Parks, 427-9670, ext. 669. printable version
