ShrimpFest at Brinnon
ShrimpFest is a two-day Memorial Weekend festival held in Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal at the heart of the Olympic Peninsula. The event is a celebration of Hood Canal Spot Shrimp and other local seafood and sponsored by Emerald Towns Alliance. Craft and food booths, exhibits, live music and children's activities are just some of the featured attractions. "Belt Sander Races" are held on both days starting at 1pm, which draw an incredible crowd. If you feel lucky, bring your own belt sander and try your luck at beating the other decorated sanders. Last year over 9,000 visitors attended ShrimpFest. Taste the wonderful local shrimp or peruse the nearby public beaches for easy harvest of clams and oysters. Tides are usually low enough and the weather is traditionally good during this holiday weekend. This is great family fun and it's FREE too! ShrimpFest will again be held in the grassy field on the north side of the Dosewallips River on the east side of Highway 101. Proceeds from ShrimpFest 2008 will to be donated to community projects. Vendors are welcome! Application forms and information are available here. ![]() Copyright ©2008 North Mason Chamber of Commerce. All rights reserved.
