History
The year was 1953 and a group of friends got together and formed a club called the "Belfair Business Men's Association." There were a total of 15 members at the time. In 1954, the name changed to the "Belfair Business Men's Club," and dues were $5.00. That lasted until 1967, when the name was changed again to the "Belfair Business Club," and Bill DeMiero was elected as president. In 1968, the name changed again to the "Belfair Chamber of Commerce," under the leadership of president Ed Berberet, who served until 1970. From 1970 to 1972, Bill Griffith held office; 1972 to 1976, Clay Cornell served as president and in 1976, Perry Baunsgard took over. The term of office was from May to May. Once again in 1977, the organization's name changed to the "Belfair-North Mason Chamber of Commerce." In 1985, the name was officially and finally changed to the "North Mason Chamber of Commerce," and so it has remained ever since.
